P1-01-10710 sessions following the winter semester25/26will follow

Sessions by appointment; intensive course (10 sessions) during the break
following the 2025–2026 winter semester;
details will be announced in the Digital Communications lecture.

For registration details, see below and the LSF.

  • Concepts for modeling and simulation: modulation and channel coding schemes, simulation outputs and their implementation using hardware components and measuring instruments
  • Development of simulation models based on specified hardware modules: real-time simulation of modulation schemes such as ASK, QAM, FSK
  • Interpretation of simulation results based on various output data/parameters: bit error rate, eye diagram, spectrum, bandwidth efficiency
  • Simulation of the behavior of transmission links assuming different channel models (AWGN channel, multipath propagation)
  • Modeling and simulation of the influence of implementation issues (e.g., carrier reconstruction errors, nonlinearities)
  • Simulation of the behavior of transmission systems using channel coding schemes (simple block and convolutional codes)

This course corresponds to Internship 3 (ETIT 213) in the module catalog for the Master's program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.

Attended the lecture “Digital Communications.”

3 credits upon successful completion of the internship. The supervisor will verify that all assignments have been completed and review the log during the course.

Please register via the LSF. You will be admitted if you are present on the first day and if there are available spots.

Places will be allocated (maximum 12, minimum 4 participants) in accordance with §9 of the examination regulations.
