In many fields of engineering, MATLAB has established itself as the standard tool for system simulation.
The advantages of MATLAB lie in its easy-to-learn scripting language, predefined toolboxes, and numerous visualization tools.
In this course, students will learn how to use MATLAB by solving small problems in the field of communications and information technology. The course covers the following topics in detail:

  • Basic skills: operation, syntax, concept of vector-based data processing
  • Using help functions, using toolboxes, comparison with SIMULINK
  • Flow control and functions
  • Designing text and graphical outputs
  • Complex data types in MATLAB, variable scopes
  • Programming user interfaces, using GUIDE
  • Input and output for files and devices, basic network programming
  • Methods for increasing speed, profilers, parallel processing
  • Typical applications: General calculations, signal processing, design tasks, Monte Carlo simulations, real-time processing

This course is offered regularly during the winter semester to students in the ETIT bachelor's program.

Electronic documentation and help features within MATLAB

Ausreichende Kenntnisse in Grundlagen der Elektrotechnik, Grundlagen der Theorie linearer Systeme

3 credits will be awarded upon successful completion of the internship. Students must successfully complete 80% of the points in the internship assignments. The supervisor will check that all subtasks have been completed and review the log during the course and at selected online sessions.
